In 1907, the Pioneer Society saw the need to collect artifacts that would preserve the history of Hood River County. Today, that collection has over 11,000 artifacts, documents, and photographs, and is still growing. You can be a part of that legacy by donating to these collections.

What does the museum collect?

Here are a few things to keep in mind when you’re considering donating an artifact:

  • Was the object made or used in Hood River County?
  • Does the object have a known history?
  • Does the object need conservation work?

Artifacts don’t need to be a certain age, or document a well-known event. Often, artifacts related to everyday life tell a rich story, and recent artifacts help preserve current life.
